What is interesting about this year’s Halloween is that despite facing financial distress, Canadians have shown more interest in high participation, consistent spending, and earlier shopping this year, according to a survey by the Retail Council of Canada.
The survey noted that although the economic conditions are tough, there has been a ‘steady enthusiasm for Halloween’. Up to 60% of respondents were expected to spend on food, alcohol, and candy, while 30% were expected to spend on clothing and 26% on home decoration. Data shows that Canadians start preparing and purchasing items for Halloween more than four weeks before; this shows that people who celebrate Halloween take it very seriously.

Many of these tours begin outside the Visitor Information Centre, 812 Wharf Street. However, some History Walks and Ghostly Walks at Halloween depart from different locations. All of these tours are guided by a team of the storytellers; these guides include a range of historians and performers from a range of backgrounds. Ghostly Walks last for 60 minutes, while the historical tours last for 90 minutes. These tours generally include 2-3 kilometers of gentle walking around downtown Victoria. Check out for details.

Witches Nite In Halloween Market
