This year is about to end, and for so many reasons, this has been a blissful and an unforgettable year for all of us at Edison College. What was special about this year was that there were several occasions during the year when we had gatherings in the college premises to celebrate different festivals. We are going to discuss some of these gatherings here.
Grand Reopening
Let us start from the grand reopening of Edison College. Our grand reopening was organized in the first week of October, and we committed with our students and faculty that the new management would continue to invest in the betterment of the college. Now that this year is about to end, we can safely say that everybody who is associated with the college must have felt the positive change in the college’s environment since the new management has taken over.
We also committed that we would try to create a vibrant community so that everyone could engage in our activities and feel part of the community. We are satisfied with our initiatives that we have taken during this short time of three months. However, we will do much more than this in 2025 to cherish the glorious 50-year history of Edison College.
Student Fall Connection
Just after the grand reopening of the college, the management organised a ‘Student Fall Connection’ session on October 11. The event kicked off with the HCA February Cohort students, who engaged in a dynamic introduction activity that set the tone for the afternoon. Following this, students had insightful discussions with the campus director, fostering valuable connections and ideas among peers. Here we would like to show our gratitude to all of those who participated in this event and made this event a success.
Halloween Trick or Treat
By the end of October, we had our third Halloween trick-or-treat event on October 31st. The program was attended by students and staff members who had spooktacular fun at Edison College. They were all dressed up in creative costumes, from ghouls to goblins, to keep the spirit of Halloween alive. Everyone enjoyed the treats, participated in exciting games, and shared plenty of laughs. It was a wonderful way to celebrate together and create lasting memories!
Job Fair
On November 7, we organised a job fair at Edison College where the campus director provided valuable advice to students. Under the guidance of instructor Laura, students engaged with representatives from Broadmead Care, among other organizations. The enthusiasm of the HCA students was evident throughout the event, as they participated in onsite interviews with companies such as Comfort Keepers and Kiwanis Pavilion. This hands-on experience enhanced their professional skills and allowed them to explore potential career opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Christmas Celebrations
Edison College celebrated Christmas on December 20 with its true spirit of sharing food and exchanging gifts. The party was attended by students and staff members, and they played games, shared laughter, friendship, and cheer. The party was organised so that students and staff could strengthen their bond, enjoy delicious food, and work with each other to make 2025 a year full of success and attainment.
Conclusion
Edison College is proud of its students and staff for making 2024 a year full of achievements and accomplishments. Despite such a short period of three months, the staff and students have made a strong bond with each other. The new management is confident that this sharing of information and ideas between the faculty, staff, and students will continue as we move on in the next year. Stay tuned with us because we are planning a number of events in 2025, including a job fair! We look forward to a prosperous year for all of us who are associated with Edison College.
