Dr. Mohammad Baten
Dr. Mohammed Baten is the President and CEO of Edison College, one of Canada’s leading private career colleges. Born and raised in Bangladesh, he has forged a path from humble beginnings in South Asia to leading one of the country’s most respected career-focused institutions, reflecting extraordinary determination.
Dr. Baten gained rich professional experience across three continents - Asia, Africa, and North America. This global perspective deepened his understanding of education, workforce development, and the universal desire to grow and contribute, while giving him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by students and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Baten has guided its growth from serving students across Canada through in-person, online, and hybrid programs. Under his leadership, the college has expanded into healthcare, business, technology, legal studies - all anchored by a commitment to student success and industry relevance.
He brings more than two decades of experience in education, entrepreneurship, and organizational leadership. He is widely recognized for his commitment to innovation in career-focused education and for building strong partnerships with employers, community organizations, and government across Canada.

Dr. Baten leads an interest-free microcredit initiative supporting marginal farming families and actively champions mentorship, inclusion, and poverty-alleviation programs.
